Phillip "Bob" Heacock, age 78, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013.
Bob served his country in the United States Navy
during the Korean War
. After his military career he worked for General Motors
until his retirement in 1978. He settled into Northern Michigan and worked for Webb's Well Drilling; and operated the Londo Lakes party store, which he and his wife Arlene have operated for close to 40 years.
Bob loved his family. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, but he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years of marriage, and best friend Arlene Heacock (nee Poola); children, David Heacock and daughter, Beth (Larry) Paquette; grandchildren, Eric (Jessie) Paquette, Melissa (Brandon) Proper, Gwenda (Ian) Anderson and Johnathan Heacock; and 11 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Georgette Yaroch, George "Neil" Heacock, Kenneth Heacock and David Hancock; several nephews and nieces, numerous friends and many loyal customers. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Elizabeth Heacock.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18 at Buresh Funeral Home Hale Chapel, 121 S. Washington St, Hale. The family will be receiving friends and family at 2 p.m. until the time of the service. Rev. Robert Nordin will be officiating the service.
