Robert John Huber, Sr., 81, of Oscoda, passed away on Monday, December 24.
He was born on November 2, 1931 in Zilwaukee, Michigan, to the late Otto and Clara Huber (nee Schindler).
Robert served in the United States Air Force and it was during his time in the military while stationed in Germany that he met his wife, Helga Piayda. They were married on November 19, 1953 in Germany.
Robert worked for over 20 years as an office manager for the Fruehauf Trailer Corporation. He and Helga then began traveling to different parts of the country and he would find work in the different places they traveled to. He was an office manager for the Naples, Florida, newspaper; an office manager for a resort in Ft. Meyers, Florida; manager for an apartment complex in Arizona; and he was a D.J. in Lake Havasu, Arizona.
Robert enjoyed all sports, especially football, fishing, spending time outdoors, and most importantly, spending time with his family.
Robert is survived by his wife, Helga Huber; children, Robert John (Cindy) Huber of Greeley, Colorado, Mary Lou (James) Bender of Frankenmuth, and Lee Ann (Dennis) Mossner of Frankenmuth. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Kristen Fagin, Scott Mossner, Holly Hetzner, Andrew Bender, Elizabeth Bender and one great-grandchild, Gabriel Mossner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Clara Huber, and his brother, William Huber. Private services were held at the Buresh Funeral Home in Oscoda on December 27, 2012 and interment followed in the Oscoda Pinecrest Cemetery.
