Wayne Eidson, age 78, a resident of Oscoda for the past 22 years, passed away on Monday, Jan. 6, 2014 at his home.
He was born in Eva, Ala. on Sept. 13, 1935 to the late Thomas and Viola Eidson (nee Evans). Shortly after graduating high school, he began his training with General Motors
and went on to become a job setter with AC Spark Plug. Wayne worked for AC Spark Plug for 37 years until his retirement.
He enjoyed spending time squirrel and coon hunting with his good friend Ron Anderson and fishing with his good friend Jim Eldred. Wayne also enjoyed fulfilling his passion of buying new vehicles from his friends Mike and Susan Volk at Roger MacIntosh Chevrolet in Linwood.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sandra; his children, Glenda Hart, Debbie Marks, Bobby Collins, Sissy Persons and Chrissie Lee; his brother, Edward (Becky) Eidson; sisters, Mozelle (William) Childers, Faye (JC) Norris and Shelby (Gloyde) Harris; brothers-in-law, Everett (Diane) Cummings and Bob Cummings and beloved friend Carolyn Perry. Wayne is also survived by his grandchildren, Bobby, Missy Autumn, Victoria, Kasaundra, Christopher, Travis, Forrest, Wyatt, Reba, Becky, Krissy, David, Heather and Niki; 10 great grandchildren and a special nephew that was like a son to him, Terry Childers. He will also be sadly missed by his dogs, Rexie, Leelee, Reba, Shorty, Emma and Susie2. In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his sister, Maddelie.
There will be a memorial service held in Alabama that will be performed by Wayne's coon hunting partner and pastor, Larry Cameron, and also a service in Oscoda, that will be scheduled at a later date. Condolences may be offered at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com.
