Paul W. Fournier, 83 years old, of Oscoda passed away on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013 in Tawas City.
He was born in Pontiac on July 30, 1930 to William and Lucinda Fournier. He served in the United States Marines and worked as an experimental engineer for General Motors Truck and Bus in Pontiac for 35 ½ years, retiring in 1987. He loved the AuSable River, golfing, and was captain of "Paul's Pride I & II." He enjoyed sport fishing on Lake Huron, and was a member of the Oscoda Yacht Club.
Paul is survived by his children, Paula (Mark) McLeod of Lapeer and Christine (John) Dew of Carsonville. He is also survived by his life partner, Donna Jordan, and her daughters, Vickie Wintermeyer and Therese (Ronald) Mochty; sister, Gloria Keglovitz; four grandchildren, Erik and Katie O'Connell, and Adam and Brad Barr; three great grandchildren, Paige, Allie and Graycen; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Gary Fournier; and brother, Chanel Fournier.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m.. Saturday, Oct. 12 at the Oscoda Yacht club, 430 S. State St. Rev. Thomas Barbret will be officiating the service. In lieu of flowers, the family sugggests donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Arrangements were made by the Oscoda Chapel of Buresh Funeral Home, 212 River Rd.
