Charles "Charlie" J. Colvin of Hale, formerly of Whittemore, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012 at 65 years of age.
Mr. Colvin retired as a fork lift driver with General Motors in 1991. He served in the U.S. Army from 1966-1968. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
He is survived by his wife Alice, whom he married Feb. 4, 1966 in Whittemore; two children, Clara (Robert) Nitz of South Carolina and Joel (Malinda) Colvin of Elkhart, Ind.; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brothers, Donald (Wendy), John (Blanch) and Robert (Gail) Colvin; and one sister, Gayle (Bud) Chipps. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Laural and Clara Colvin; and one brother, Ronald Colvin.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012 at the Hale Chapel of Buresh Funeral Home, 121 S. Washington. The family will receive friends from noon until the time of service with Rev. Kevin Switzer officiating. Memorial contributions are suggested to the family.
