Ernest "Butch" Aufang of Whittemore, passed away Nov. 6, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw at 67 years of age.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jeannette; three children, Christopher Aufang, David Nolen and Kimberly (David) Olsick; three grandchildren, Halley, Hudson and Holden Olsick; along with his siblings, Barbara (Dan) Church, William Taylor, Karen (Steve) Swain, Jerry Aufang, Charles Aufang and Laurence Taoman. He was preceded in death by his parents Evelyn and Bill Taylor and Charles Aufang.
Mr. Aufang was born Sept. 27, 1946 in Tacoma, Wash. He was an Army veteran who served in Okinawa during Vietnam. In 1996, he retired from General Motors in Flint after 30 years of service. Butch loved sports and had a great sense of humor. He will be remembered for his fun personality and the way he enjoyed joking, teasing and making people laugh.
Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 11 at Judson Baptist Church, 201 Harrison St. in Prescott. Interment along with military honors took place at the Richland Township Cemetery, Pastor Doug Kennedy officiating. Memorial contributions are suggested to Judson Baptist Church.
