Grace L. Woodburn, age 95, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Tawas Village, East Tawas.
Grace was born July 4, 1916 in Crawford County, near Grayling, the daughter of Harriet and William J. Woodburn. Grace graduated from Central State Teacher's College (now Central Michigan University) in 1939 and received her master's degree from the University of Michigan in 1960. She taught school in North Park, Grand Rapids and Tawas. She retired from Tawas Area Schools in 1976.
Grace had been a member of Tawas United Methodist Church for the past 42 years.
Grace was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Reynold Mick. Three nephews survive her, Bill Mick (Mary Lou) of Midland, Jim Mick (Marge) of Cheboygan and Don Mick (Barb) of Roscommon. She also is survived by two grandnieces, three grandnephews, four great grandnieces and one great grandnephew.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday June 26 at 1 p.m. at Tawas United Methodist Church in Tawas City. Her family will welcome friends at the church on Tuesday for visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Maple Forest Cemetery in Frederic.
