Irma Louise Emery of Tawas City passed away peacefully at Lakeview Manor Healthcare Facility on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, age 97 years.

Irma was born in Cass City on March 26, 1916 to John and Lena (Collins) Wentworth. She owned and operated a restaurant and gas station in Capac many years ago with her husband. She also worked several years at the Iosco County Medical Care Facility as an office clerk.
Irma was an active member of East Tawas Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed playing board games and her favorite was Yahtzee.
Irma is survived by her step-daughter, Janice (Joe) Hoisington of Imlay City; one sister, Velma (Jim) Monaghan of East Tawas; four step-grandchildren, Kelley, Michael, Sherry and Scott; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted, in 1978; step-son, Gary Emery; brother, Wilfred Wentworth; and sister, Gladys Hutchinson.
Irma was laid to rest privately in Esmond-Evergreen Cemetery in Hale on Friday, May 10. Her family will have a memorial service and celebration of her life at East Tawas Church of the Nazarene at a later date to be announced. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in her honor are asked to consider either East Tawas Church of the Nazarene or Lakeview Manor.
