Mabel May Drumm of East Tawas passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Lakeview Manor Healthcare Center in Tawas City, age 87 years.

Mabel was born on July 11, 1925 to Charles and Mina (Ostrander) Smiley. She grew up in South Branch with five brothers and four sisters.
After high school graduation, Mabel spent three years in nursing school in Saginaw. Shortly after college, she married her husband. Francis L. Drumm, and they began their lives together and raised their family of three children. Mabel absolutely adored and cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also truly enjoyed camping, fishing, reading and ice cream.
She was a longtime member of Tawas United Methodist Church and the American Legion Women's Auxiliary. Mabel was also a former longtime member of the Iosco County Sportsmen's Club. She was a very loving, kind, generous and strong woman and she will be sadly missed by all who had the honor to know her.
Mabel is survived by two loving children, son, Rodney (Laura) Drumm of Yuba City, Calif. and daughter, Susan (Clarence) Jordan of Whittemore; seven grandchildren, Matthew (Kelly) Jordan, Mark (Janet) Jordan, Marty (Elly) Jordan, Micah (Miechon) Jordan, Bobby Drumm, Rodney Drumm and Justin Drumm; four great grandchildren, Trevor Jordan, Ali Jordan, Drake Jordan and Gracie Jordan; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Mabel was preceded in death by her husband, Francis L. Drumm in 1999; and a daughter, Elizabeth Drumm.
Her family will welcome friends at the Buresh Funeral Home on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. for visitation. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 22 at 11 a.m. at Tawas United Methodist Church with Reverend Mary Gibson officiating. Her family will welcome friends at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. Interment will take place in the American Legion Cemetery in East Tawas.
