Marie Barbara Purdo-Hall, age 104, of Tawas City died peacefully under the loving care of her son and hospice on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Tawas Village in East Tawas.

She was born the daughter of Joseph and Mary (nee Luther) Kopas on March 3, 1909 in Flint. She graduated from All Saints School in Flint. Marie was a secretary for more than 25 years for Michigan Tool Company in Detroit before retiring in 1975.
She married her husband, Daniel, on Oct. 6, 1934 and together they raised a son, Daniel, until 1945 when Daniel Sr. passed away and continued to raise her son alone. In 1972, she married Ernest E. Hall until he passed away in 1987. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in East Tawas. Marie loved to sew and was an excellent seamstress. She took great pride in her sewing and crocheting and enjoyed making Slovak ethnic meals during the holidays.
Marie is survived by her loving son, Daniel and his wife Karen; grandchildren, Michelle Purdo Malusi (Donald) and Patricia Kuch (Joseph); and her great grandchildren, Ashley Purdo and Alexander and Adam Kuch. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Daniel Sr. and Ernest; and three sisters and two brothers.
A memorial mass will be held in her honor on Tuesday, July 2 at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will be held at a later date in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Angelic Care. Words of sympathy may be shared at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com.
