Roger David Earl of Tawas City passed away peacefully Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013 at Lakeview Manor Healthcare Center in Tawas City, age 88 years.
Roger was born on March 10, 1924 in Ferndale to Clarence E. and Ivah M. (Clark) Earl. He proudly served our country during World War II in the United States Navy as an electrician apprentice. Roger was employed by D&M Railway as a welder and retired after many years of hard work and faithful service.
Those who knew Roger will always remember how he truly loved nature and countless outdoor activities. He enjoyed farming, camping, hunting, fishing, tractor shows, traveling and attending the annual Mennonite Relief sale. He was a long time member of Hemlock Road Baptist Church and Tawas Masonic Lodge.
Roger is survived by his six loving children, Kay (Chuck) Klenow, Connie Earl, Bill (Connie) Finley, Steve (Eva) Finley, Drew (Jayme) Earl and Ericka Earl; 14 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two brother-in-laws, David Anderson and Dan (Mary Kay) Anderson; one sister-in-law, Coralie Earl; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Roger was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Teddi; and brothers, sisters and his parents.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service with military honors took place on Monday, Feb. 4 at Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City with Reverend Andy Price officiating.
