Stephen H. Naegele, age 67, of East Tawas and Lakeland, Fla., died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, in Florida.

He was born Jan. 16, 1946, in Frankenmuth, the son of Herbert and Clara (nee Zender) Naegele.
Steve was a 1964 graduate of Frankenmuth High School, a 1968 graduate of Central Michigan University and a 1971 graduate of the Detroit College of Law. He had a law practice in Oscoda prior to becoming Iosco County prosecuting attorney, serving from April 1976 to December 1984. He then had a law practice in East Tawas.
He was a member of the 23rd Judicial Bar Association, the Michigan State Bar and the Federal Bar.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Tawas City. Steve was also a member of the Tawas Area Elks. He was a former baseball player and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. He also enjoyed playing tennis and golf and was an umpire for baseball games.
Steve was also a Shriner and taught criminal justice at Alpena Community College on the former Wurtsmith Air Force Base.
He is survived by his special friend, Mary Ford of Tawas City and Lakeland. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation and a funeral service was held Monday, Feb. 18, at Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City. Interment will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
