Sylvia Wagerly Dafoe of Glennie, passed away March 22, 2013 at 93 years of age.

She was born in Glennie on Nov. 6, 1919 to LeRoy and Zella (nee Allison) Wagerley. She has lived in Glennie her entire life. She was baptized into the Methodist Church and has been an active member, teaching Sunday School, Bible School and being an active member of the Unite Methodist Women.
Sylvia attended grade school in Glennie and graduated from Harrisville High School. She attended County Normal in East Tawas, receiving her Bachelor of Science degree from Central Michigan University in 1968. She taught school for 23 years in Glennie and Oscoda before retiring in 1976.
She is survived by her daughter, Dianna (William) Vincent; her daughter-in-law, Rita Defoe; three grandchildren, Renae, Tamera and Kevin; and five great grandchildren, Taylor, Tristan, Skylar Robson, Robert and Laura Kurc. She is also survived by many wonderful friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard; and son, Robert Dafoe.
Sylvia enjoyed working with her hands doing sewing, embroidery work and oil paintings.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 6 at the Hale Chapel of Buresh Funeral Home, 121 S. Washington. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Glennie Cemetery, Rev. Rob Nordin officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorial contributions to Glennie Methodist Church or Our Kids Organization in Glennie.
