William C. Verrette, 68, of National City passed away suddenly on Oct. 20, 2013 at Orlando Hospital in Florida.

Mr. Verrette was born in Flint on Oct. 23, 1944, the son of Clifford and Kathleen (nee Atkins) Verrette.
Mr. Verrette was a crane operator for 40-plus years prior to his retirement. When he wasn't working, Bill could be found watching stock car racing or spending time with his family and friends. Bill was a free-spirited soul who loved social events and having his entire family with him at all times.
Mr. Verrette is survived by his loving fiancé', Nina Hooper; children, Christina (Daryl Thomas) Verrette of Davenport, Fla., Tracy (Ralph) Bice of Otter Lake, William Jr. (Pam) Verrette of Whittemore and Mark (Erin Dusenbury) Stiff of Genesee; six grandchildren, Brook, Brandy and Amber Baker, Tyler and Tayler Verrette and Nick Jewel; and two great grandchildren, Quinton "James" Ford and Kinslee Lakes.
Visitation for Mr. Verrette will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25 at C.L. Forshee & Sons Funeral Homes, Inc., Twining Chapel, and from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 26 at the funeral home prior to services at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Saints Cemetery, Whittemore.
