William J. James Jr. of Oscoda passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at West Branch Regional Medical Center, age 91 years.

William was born on July 24, 1921 in Laurium to William J. Sr. and Grace W. (White) James. He proudly served our country for three and a half years during World War II in the United States Army. He retired from the United States Post Office on July 24, 1983 after a long career.
William married Marjorie (Norris) James on Sept. 20, 1952. Together they celebrated 60 beautiful years of marriage. They moved to Oscoda in 1984. He was a life time member of the Masonic Lodge, most recently a member of the AuSable Lodge No. 243.
William is survived by his wife, Marjorie, of Oscoda; two children, Steven (Crystal) James of Rockford, Ill. and Carol James Ott (Doug Stephenson) of Oscoda; five grandchildren, Bradley (Melissa) James, Barbara (Jack) Mueller, Zachary (Jessica) Ott, Brian Stephenson and Joe Patterson; and three great grandchildren, Nicholas James, Elizabeth Stephenson, and Braxton James. William was preceded in death by his parents, William J. James Sr. and Grace W. James; and a son, James H. James.
Visitation is scheduled for Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Buresh Funeral Home in Oscoda. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, July 9 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Dr. William Cargo officiating. His family will welcome friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service. Interment will take place in Oscoda Pinecrest Cemetery.
