Lyle L. Cornman of East Tawas, formerly of Kingman, Ariz., passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014 at St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw, age 83.
Lyle was born on Feb. 8, 1931 in Big Creek, Oscoda County, Michigan to Harold and Clara (Hughes) Cornman. After high school, Lyle enlisted in the United States Army. He owned and operated Mr. C's Machine Shop and Car Wash in Kingman, Ariz. for many years.
Lyle was blessed with a brilliant mind and could build almost anything he set out to do. He loved to work with metal and often wood, constructing and creating all sorts of things. Lyle also enjoyed many years as a bee keeper. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Lyle is survived by his loving wife, MaryLou Cornman of East Tawas; seven children, Wayne (Colleen) Cornman of Burt, Roger (Linda) Cornman of Nevada, Robert (Susie) Cornman of Arizona, Douglas Cornman of Arizona, Harold (Delta) Cornman of West Branch, Dean (Jeannie) Cornman of Arizona and Lyle G. "Squeak" (Mary) Cornman of Arizona; 14 grandchildren; five step grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; six step great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Clara (Hughes) Cornman; one brother, Walter Cornman; one sister, Arlene Mason; and one grandchild.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 11 a.m. at Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City. His family will welcome friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, Feb. 26 from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
