Caroline Lilly Knotts of Glen Allen, Va. passed away suddenly in South Branch on July 25, 2014 at 16 years of age.

She was born July 20, 1998 in Kalamazoo to James and Rebecca (nee Boone) Knotts. Caroline spent every summer of her life on Jose Lake in South Branch at her grandfather, John Boone's cabin. She was an honor roll student at Henrico High School where she would have been starting her junior year.
She was in the International Baccalaureate program and a varsity player for both the field hockey and soccer teams. She enjoyed travel, and had just returned from Guatemala, and was a ""beautiful"" dancer. She had a love for children and they in return loved her back. Her smile and spirit lit up the whole world. ""A true friend and a joyous soul."" She was the best big sister ever.
Caroline is survived by her parents, James and Rebecca; her brother, Jameson Boone Knotts; and grandfather, John Boone of Sanibel Island, Fla. and South Branch. She is also survived by her aunts and uncles, Kim and Greg Watson of Hillsdale, David Knotts of Jenison, Ken Knotts of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Vickie and David Horsley of Grosse Pointe Farms, Randy Boone of Sanibel, Fla. and Liz and John Merriwether of Sanibel, Fla. along with numerous cousins. She will be dearly missed by all of her extended family who loved her very much.
A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, July 29 at the Grosse Pointe Farms Pier Park beginning at 4 p.m. An additional memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 7 at Christ Church in Glen Allen, Va.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested for a memorial scholarship in honor of Caroline Lilly Knotts. Arrangements are handled by the Hale Chapel of Buresh Funeral Home, www.bureshfuneralhomes.com.
