Joe Dee Palumbo (nee Grabow), age 55, a lifelong resident of Tawas City, died at her home under the loving care of her family on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011.
She was born the daughter of Carl Arthur and Elizabeth Jean (nee McArdle) on Oct. 18, 1955 in Tawas City. Joe Dee attended Tawas Area Schools, graduated from Tawas Area High School in 1973 and worked at the drive-in theater where she meet her best friend, Michael, whom she married on Oct. 27, 1973 in Tawas City. Together, they shared 38 years of marriage. Joe Dee worked at St. Joseph Health System in Tawas City for 28 years and enjoyed spending time gardening, walking, reading, jet skiing and creating her home in her own special way, but above all, her husband, children, family and her dogs, Herbie and Julie, were her love!
She is survived by her husband, Mike; daughter, Nichol Palumbo and her husband, Todd Howser; her son, Joseph Palumbo; seven brothers and sisters, Carl A. ""Skip"" (Nikki) Grabow, Sheri J. Williams, Terry ""Scott"" (Brenda) Grabow, Charles J. (Debra) Grabow, Toni L. (Kevin) Provoast, Jacki S. Grabow and Jeri D. (Garry) Wetter; her uncle, John G. (Sandy) McArdle; and many special nieces and nephews. Joe Dee was preceded in death by her parents.

A celebration of Joe Dee's life will be held at her home on Saturday, Oct. 1 at 2 p.m. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Iosco County Humane Society, 3881 W. M-55 Tawas City, MI 48763. Condolences may be offered at Cremation arrangements were handled by the Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City.
