Thomas Willard Marsh of Oscoda died Monday, Nov. 26, 2012 in the Trauma Intensive Care Unit of St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw with his wife and daughter at his side.

He was born May 24, 1932 in Dallas Township, Iowa to James W. and Alice (Moore) Marsh. He married Joan Duuck on September 27, 1953 in Clinton, Iowa.
He served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years and retired in 1972. After retirement he owned and operated Marsh Aviation Maintenance at Iosco County Airport and in other positions until complete retirement in 1993.
He was an avid hunter. His passion was guns and gun sports, particularly trapshooting. He was a member of the Iosco Sportsmen's Club and served as treasurer for several years, and was on the Board of Directors for many years and was serving in that capacity at the time of his death.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joan; two children, Lon of Oscoda and Lori of Missouri; two grandchildren, Gretchen Kubik and Mathew and his wife Joelyn Marsh; two adopted grandchildren, Richard and Bethany Royster; six great grandchildren, Hunter and Addison Kubik, Phoebe and Nora Marsh and Autumn and Riley Royster; two brothers, Orville of Iowa and Larry and his wife Patricia Marsh of Colorado; a sister, Nancy and her husband Bill Lindsay of Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Ronald.
Funeral services along with military honors will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 1 at Pinecrest Cemetery Chapel in Oscoda. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Oscoda Chapel of Buresh Funeral Home, 212 River Rd. in Oscoda. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Iosco County Animal Shelter.
