Gerald Hosbach, age 67, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013 at Cartwright Hospice Care Center, Saginaw.

Gerald was born July 30, 1945 in Alexandria, Ind. to parents Arnold and Norma (Miller) Hosbach. Gerald graduated from Tawas Area High School in 1963 and Saginaw Valley State University in 1969 with a degree in education, later teaching at Almont High School, St. Joseph Catholic School in Saginaw and Saginaw Public Schools. He retired from the State of Michigan, Department of Social Services, Saginaw branch, as a social worker supervisor.
Gerald was past president and active in S.E.R.A. Saginaw Chapter and the Lansing executive committee. He also served for SeQrt on elder abuse in Lansing.
Surviving are his wife, Anne; sister, Linda Hughes of Crystal Lake, Ill.; brother, Arnold (Elizabeth) Hosbach of Akron, Ohio; several cousins, nieces and nephews and many friends at Cedar Shores Resort in Harrison. Gerald liked dogs, reading and Scrabble.
Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be announced at later date. Contributions may be made to St. Johns Evangelical Church, 40705 Brockway Rd., Saginaw, MI 48603 or the Saginaw County Animal Shelter. Arrangements are by Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S.
