On behalf of Dad, Gene DeLoach, we were so sad to hear of John's passing. Daddy loved John like a brother and it was a friendship they both cherished into old age. Our deepest sympathy to all the children. I posted a photo of Dad and John in high school. You should see it show up tomorrow.

"Girls" - I will certainly miss Uncle John. I always thought of him as Daddy's twin brother. I will never forget when Trippe & Lee jumped in his arms and called him Granddaddy. I regret that Mamma and I will not be able to make it to Columbia. My thoughts and prayers will be with you all, though. Love, Gay

Sue, Nancy, and Mary: I am happy to have so many memories of Uncle John and Aunt Helen. They were also Mama and Daddy's best friends. They enjoyed those golf trips every year. All of you are in my heart and soul. I love you three so much.

Mr. Rodgers called me "Badness" throughout my childhood, but I knew it was only a joke because he always seemed to find the good in all of us neighborhood kids who came over to the Rodgers house on a daily basis. I can still see the "his and hers" chairs in the den where he sat with his sweet wife. I'd like to think they are occupying them now.
All my love to Mary and the Rodgers family.
