James Lawton, Sr.NORTH CHARLESTON - Mr. James Lawton, Sr., 82, of North Charleston, SC, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 6, 2015. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held on today, Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 1:00 pm in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1550 Meeting Street Road, North Charleston, SC 29405. Viewing for Mr. Lawton will be on this morning at the Kingdom Hall from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. He is survived by his loving children: Mary Evans, Rodger Lawton, Linda Jones (Antonio), Gloria Snooks (Franklin) and Brenda Jackson (Jonathan) and a host of other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, husband of the late Avrie Elizabeth Fields Lawton. The family will be receiving friends at: 2746 Gordon Street, North Charleston, SC 29405. Leon Jr., Hayden Louis  
Hayden Louis Leon, Jr. Hayden Louis Leon, Jr. of Sea Pines in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, and previously from Annapolis, Maryland, passed away at his residence on Saturday, May 23rd at the age of 76. Born in Long Beach, CA. to Hayden Louis Leon and Virginia Wallace Leon, loving husband of Elizabeth L. (Betty Ann) Leon for 50 years, devoted father to Hayden Louis Leon III (Chip), and Christine Elizabeth Leon, and proud grandfather to Hannah and Henry Leon. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1959, after which he received his Master's degree from the Naval Post Graduate school, and served in the Naval nuclear submarine service, retiring in 1979. He lived a wonderful life and was an avid sailor, an artist in sketching, as well as being involved with many organizations including being an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America, an AARP driver safety instructor in both Annapolis and Hilton Head, member of the Noon Lions Club of Hilton Head Island, Sea Pines Men's Club, MOMA, and MENSA. Private memorial services for immediate family and friends will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers please donate to the American Red Cross, the Naval Academy, and the ASPCA. Linker, Maria Louise Bishop - Bluffton  
Maria Louise Bishop Linker, age 61, of Bluffton, SC and formerly a longtime resident of Hardeeville, SC died Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at her residence. Maria was born on September 20, 1953 in Savannah, GA, the daughter of the late Walter "Buddy" Bishop, Sr. and Tommie Louise Ulmer Bishop. She worked for many years as a bartender at Frank's Oasis in Hilton Head and later worked as a realtor with Gina Scott. Maria was preceded in death by her late former husband, Larry Jones. She is survived by her husband, Ronald "Ron" Linker of Bluffton; daughters, January Elizabeth Jones Snow (Trey) of Bluffton and Eva Jones Simcox (David) of Ridgeland; siblings, Walter Bishop (Marisol) of Spain, James Bishop (Dessie) of Savannah, Wanda Grayson (Jimmy) of Okatie, and Joe Bishop of Hardeeville. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jackson, Luke, Nolan, and Sydney. A memorial celebration will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 29, 2015 at her daughter, January's residence in Bluffton, SC.
