Mullaney, Ray  
Ray MullaneyIt is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of our beloved Ray. Devoted husband of Lorraine, died at home on December 13, 2014. Ray was very much loved and will be terribly missed. Ray was born in East Orange, New Jersey on June 12, 1941 the son of the late Raymond Mullaney and Dorothy Guinan Mullaney. He was a graduate of Conception Abbey College. In addition to his wife of 44 years Ray is survived by his brother Michael Mullaney and his wife, Rita of New York and many nieces and nephews. Ray was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Germany from 1967 to 1969 and always spoke of how proud he was of his service there. Following his time in the service he worked as an Editor for Pearson Education from which he retired after 40 years. Ray learned to sail and loved to sail his beloved catboat "Wind Rose" which he had built for him. He sailed her on the bay in Barnegat, New Jersey for more than 10 years. He brought her to South Carolina and sailed her on the Colleton River enjoying the beautiful lowcountry. As well as sailing Ray enjoyed tennis and played several times a week with his fellow neighbors. Music was always in his heart and Ray loved playing his guitars and singing. Until this year he sang with the St. Gregory the Great Choir and the Lazarus Choir. Ray also loved to serve at the early weekday masses at St. Andrew Chapel. Ray loved life and life loved him back. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 18, 2014 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 333 Fording Island Road, Bluffton, SC 29909. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the Mass. Burial will follow the Mass at 2:00 p.m. at Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry, P.O. Box 23019, Hilton Head Island, SC 29925 and Hospice Care of the Lowcountry, P.O. Box 3827, Bluffton, SC 29910.

Oriage, Richard Charles  
Richard Charles Oriage, 87, widower of Carol G. Campbell Oriage, died Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Hilton Head Hospital. He was the son of the late King Orage and Carrie Smith Orage and was born November 15, 1927 on Hilton Head Island long before the bridge. At the age of 15, he became a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church where he served until his pilgrimage to New York City, where he was an active member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church. Richard attended the local public school and was a 1948 graduate of Penn School of St. Helena Island. He was a Korean War Veteran of the United States Army, where he received several medals, ribbons and citations, including the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was a retired Social Worker for the City of New York. After retiring, he returned to Hilton Head and Mt. Calvary. He served faithfully on the Usher Board, Deacon Board, Treasurer of the Achievement School Board, and Men's Fellowship Ministry. Richard was the co-founder of the Gullah Heritage Tours. In the community Richard helped to organize the Native Island Business and Community Affairs which he chaired for six years. He was instrumental in forming the Loan Committee of the Native Island and Business Administration and chaired that board until it was dissolved. Richard loved gardening and was an avid fisherman who threw his last line on Wednesday, December 3rd. Fishing was a therapy he thoroughly enjoyed. Survivors include three sons Luther (Sheila) Mitchell of Navarre, FL, James "Jimmy" (Carol) Campbell and Ronald "Ronnie" Ford both of Hilton Head, SC; five grandchildren: Derek T. Mitchell, Keisha D. Mitchell, Kendra D. Mitchell, John R. Campbell, and Stephanie E. Campbell; seven great-grandchildren; eight brothers-in-law George (Esther) Williams, Herbert Campbell, Emory (Emma) Campbell, David (Barbara) Campbell, Irvin (Carolyn) Campbell, Melvin Campbell, Morris (Ida) Campbell, and Ben Campbell; all of Hilton Head Island, three sisters-in-law: Regina Ragland, Hattie (Jessie) Bryant, and Idean Campbell; and a host of cousins to include Blanche Cue, Alice Driessen, Eugene Orage, Patsy Orage, Gwen Fields; Maggie Orage, David Orage and Pearl Jones, other relatives and many caring friends. Wake Services: 6 to 8 PM Friday at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Hilton Head Island. Funeral Services: Saturday at 11:00 AM at Mt. Calvary with burial following in Jenkins Island Cemetery with military honors. There will be no viewing after the eulogy. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to Penn Center, PO Box 126, St. Helena Island, 29920 or the American Cancer Society. Osborn, Betty Ann  
Betty Ann Osborn, 92, a resident of TidePointe and Sea Pines Plantation, Hilton Head, South Carolina since 1977 died December 15, 2014. Mrs. Osborn, the daughter of Irving E. and Elsie J. Campbell, was born in Waukesha, WI and raised in Sheboygan, WI. She attended the College of St. Catherine in Minneapolis, MN and Marjorie Webster in Washington, DC. On July 2, 1942, she married J. Gordon Osborn, Jr. in Providence, RI. Her husband was a decorated Naval Aviator from December 1941 until June 1969. During her husband's naval career, she and her family lived in Washington, DC; Winter Park, FL; Monterey, CA; Taipei, Taiwan, East Greenwich, RI; Mayport, FL and Millington, TN. Following his retirement, the family lived in Neenah, WI until moving to Hilton Head. Over her lifetime, she was an avid golfer (with multiple holes-in-one), devoted bridge player, curling player, Red Cross Volunteer, and lifelong Green Bay Packer fan and shareholder. Surviving are her brother Bob Campbell and his wife Dee of Green Bay, WI; three sons; Jack and his wife Judith of McCormick, SC; Colin and his wife Pam of Springfield, VA; Eric and his wife Dawn of Charlotte, NC; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Gordon, and a daughter, Cynthia, predeceased her. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at St. Luke's Church with the Rev. Greg Kronz officiating. Osmer Jr., Clifford Alden - ,south Carolina,  
Clifford "Denny" Alden Osmer, Jr. Clifford "Denny" Alden Osmer, Jr. died peacefully on Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at the age of 83 in Hilton Head, SC, after a long courageous battle with emphysema. Born in Jamestown, NY, on November 28, 1930, he was predeceased by his parents, Clifford and Marjorie Osmer, and his sister, Nancy Newgreen. Denny was also predeceased by his loving wife of 51 years, Suzanne Shearman Osmer in 2002. He is survived by his loving and devoted partner of ten years, Lynn Olsen; his son Richard Osmer and his wife Cindy of Nashua, NH; his daughter, Perry Osmer of Spring Hill, FL; and his daughter Nancy Chalmers, and her husband, Jim, of Melrose, MA. His four grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive him; Richard Osmer, his wife, Jennifer, and their two children, Liam and Colin; Christopher Osmer; Matthew Osmer and his wife, Nicole; and Jillian Chalmers. After serving four years in the United States Air Force, Denny worked as an engineer for Sylvania Corporation, in Buffalo, NY, then moved his family in 1967 to Medfield, MA, where he worked for the Raytheon Corporation for 25 years. While living in Medfield he was an active member of the Medfield Lions Club for many years. After retiring, he and Sue moved to Grantham, NH, where the entire family enjoyed many fun filled years of summer and winter activities. Selling his property in Eastman, he moved full time to Hilton Head Island in 2013. Over the years, Denny enjoyed all the latest and greatest, state-of-the-art electronics and "gadgets", music of all kinds especially, Frank Sinatra, his computer, tennis, golf, reading, crossword puzzles, and spending time with his family and friends. He was extremely intelligent, witty, fun, and a joy to be around. Denny was the life of the party. His laughter was infectious. He will be truly missed by all. All are invited to attend a "celebration" of Denny's life on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at Basil Restaurant, 43 Frairy Street in Medfield, MA from 1 P.M. to 4 P.M. Pham, Tuan Tommy Anh  
Tuan "Tommy" Anh Pham Tuan "Tommy" Anh Pham passed away on Wednesday, November 26th, 2014 in Tallahassee, Florida with his family beside him after a courageous battle with leukemia. Tommy was born on February 16, 1972 in Saigon, Vietnam, and he is survived by his two children, Annie and Justin, and their mother Daysis Pham. Tommy's effervescent personality and caring nature made him the most beloved chef at Kurama Japanese Restaurant where he worked for nearly twenty years. Tommy will be greatly missed by all who met him. Please join friends and family for a Celebration of Life honoring Tommy Pham on Saturday, December 13th at noon at Kurama Japanese Restaurant.

Phillips, Charles Wescoat (Wes)  
Charles Wescoat (Wes) Phillips, 71, of Beaufort, SC, died on November 25, 2014. The family received friends on Monday, December 1, 2014 from 5-7pm at Anderson Funeral Home. The funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 1:00pm at First Christian Church of Shell Point with interment to follow at Beaufort Memorial Gardens. Mr. Phillips was born in Beaufort on January 18, 1943 to the late William J. and Mary Ruth Phillips. He attended Beaufort County Schools. Wes was retired from Civil Service at MCAS of Beaufort, SC after 20 years, where he worked many positions, such as painter, carpenter, supervisor and supply clerk. Wes was a long time member of the former Beaufort Racing Pigeon Club. He enjoyed being around animals and raised birds, ducks, chickens, goats and enjoyed his cats. He loved to go fishing, shrimping, hunting, boating and outdoor cooking. He was preceded in death by his parents, William J. & Mary Ruth Phillips, and a sister Elizabeth Ann Barnes. Surviving are one brother, Ray & Eunice Phillips of Beaufort, SC and one sister Betty Robertson of Ridgeland, SC. Also his ex-wife of 35 years, Cindy Phillips; and one uncle, Howard Phillips of Holly Hill, SC. Before being admitted to Bayview Nursing Home Wes lived alone next to his sister-in-law, Susan Presley, who cared and assisted him when needed. Also surviving are nephews, Randy Phillips (Opie) of Ridgeland, SC and Clarence Barnes of Alabama. Nieces, Jane Moody (Bill) of Beaufort,SC, Diane Lawson (Clark) of Bells Cross Road, SC, Susan De'Leon Rivas (Lee) of Bluffton, SC, Sheila Barnes of Alabama; also numerous great nieces & nephews. Everyone who knew Wes will always remember him as one of a kind. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to the First Christian Church of Shell Point, 102 Savannah Highway Beaufort, SC 29906. Christine PhillipsMrs. Christine Purvis Phillips, 72, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Summit Place in Beaufort. She was the widow of the late Doctor B.C. Phillips, Jr. Graveside funeral services will be held 10 am, Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Glendale Memorial Cemetery, Walterboro. Born August 16, 1942 in Islandton, she was a daughter of the late Bernard Purvis and Pauline Simmons Purvis. She was a retired medical assistant and attended Living Word Church. Rockefeller, Lyle H.  
Lyle H. Rockefeller Lyle H. Rockefeller, 64, went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 2 at his home in Sun City, after a 9-month battle with cancer. He was known for his broadcasting voice, sense of humor, and love for his family. Lyle was a long-time resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado until he and his wife retired to South Carolina. He graduated from Colorado State University - Pueblo, where he majored in broadcasting.  He was very active in his church and amateur radio clubs. He loved the Lord and his family with all his heart. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Kathy; sons, Mark and Matthew; 3 grandchildren; sister, Jane Anderson; several nieces and nephews, and many friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Trinity Church, 40 Palmetto Bay Rd, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928. Rodney E. Rohrbaugh, 72, passed away in Charleston, SC December 17th with his loving wife of 27 years and 3 children by his side. Rucker, Richard L.  
Richard L. "Rick" RuckerRichard L. "Rick" Rucker, 64, of Bluffton, SC died December 8, 2014. Rick was born in Eugene, OR on August 11, 1950, the son of the late Richard L. Rucker and Mary Lou Spangler Rucker. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving during the Vietnam War and three time recipient of the Purple Heart. He worked for many years in home construction and was currently the Construction Manager for Village Park Homes. Mr. Rucker is survived by his loving wife, Pat Rucker; daughters, Kammy Mauldin (Mark) of Charleston, SC, Dawn Johnson (Scott) of Fresno, CA, and Kasie Hazen (Timothy) of Land O' Lakes, FL; step-son, Todd Brassard (Mary) of Corpus Christi, TX; grandchildren, Dominic Parker, Gage Parker, Mason Lewis, Tyler Rucker, Markus Mauldin, and Braden Martin.
