Debra Coleman Shepp CHAPIN - An angel called home, Debra Coleman Shepp, 63, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2014 after a heroic battle with Lymphoma Cancer. She loved reading, gardening, living on the lake, walks on the beach, and trips to Beaufort. She will be missed and loved forever. She was born in Columbia to the late James Phil Coleman and Helen Chewning Coleman. Debra was a graduate of A. C. Flora High School and attended Midlands Technical College. Surviving are her husband of 40 years, Jerry R. Shepp; son, James William Whittington, III (Julie) of Columbia; daughter, Melissa Ann Shepp (Nicki) of Asheville, NC; sisters, Phyllis MacQueen (Steve) of Chapin and Cathy Weldon of Irmo; brother, Jimmy Coleman of Newberry; 2 wonderful grandsons, Noah Whittington and Todd Whittington of Columbia and a wonderful nephew, Coleman Weldon of Irmo. Funeral services for Debra will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Chapin Chapel with interment in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, February 24, 2014 at the funeral home chapel in Chapin. We thank our friends and family for their love and support during her illness. We also would like to thank Dr. Ann Hutchison and the nurses and schedulers at South Carolina Oncology Associates for their love and care of Debra during her cancer fight.
