Louise Blythe Jenkins, 88, of Beaufort, SC, formerly of Sarasota, FL, died March 22, 2014 at her residence. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, March 28, 2014 at 2 P.M. at The Parish Church of St. Helena. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carey and Lillian Blythe of Hendersonville, NC and her husband, Dr. William Jones Jenkins, a former Navy doctor who survived Iwo Jima. She is survived by her children, William Jenkins, Jr., of Collettsville, NC, Kathleen Hightower of Beaufort, SC, Carey (Sue) Jenkins of Sarasota, FL, Susan Jenkins of Ashville, NC and Linda Jenkins of Sarasota, FL; her grandchildren Jennifer Jenkins, Libby (John) Barbour, Angie (Eddy) Nalley, Catie Hightower, Wendie (John) Loizzi, Jessica (Mark) Sutherland, Melanie (Joe) Snyder, Lexie (Jeff) Levenson and 14 great-grandchildren. She will be loved and missed by all. Louise was an avid reader, enjoyed painting and walking her dogs. She was also a devoted supporter of the 5th Marine Division Association and St. Labre Indian School. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to Friends of Caroline Hospice, 1110 13th Street, Port Royal, SC 29935. Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family.
