Edward J. Kulig, Jr. Edward J. Kulig, Jr., age 69, passed away peacefully at his home on June 24, 2013 after a valiant struggle with cancer. A New Britain native who lived in Plainville most of his life and then Higganum, Edward had recently retired from a career in sales and relocated to Beaufort, South Carolina. Edward was the son of the late Edward J. Kulig, Sr. and the late Ethel J. Kulig (Staubley). He was a 1962 graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School in New Britain, CT and attended Quinnipiac University. Edward loved the game of golf and playing cribbage with his friends and family. Above all, Edward loved hosting family holidays and gatherings. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Edward is survived by his loving wife, June "Jaimee" Kulig (Allen), his son Thomas Kulig and his wife, Denise, his daughter Ellen Cugno (Kulig) and her husband, Paul, his son Timothy Kulig and his wife, Chi and step-son Gregory Osowiecki and his wife Melissa. Edward was pre-deceased by step-children David Osowiecki and Aimee Osowiecki. He is also survived by the grandchildren he most treasured, Taylor Garewski, Austin Kulig, Evan Kulig, Leah Cugno, Colton Cugno, Kaia Kulig, Gregory Osowiecki, Kristin Haramis, Emma Osowiecki, Daniel Osowiecki, and great-granddaughter Avery Sipe. Edward is also survived by his siblings; his brother Mark Kulig, his sister Lynn Belliveau (Kulig) and sister Lois Drumheller (Kulig). A memorial mass will be held on August 10, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church located at 170 Main St., Terryville, CT 06786, followed by a burial service at St. Mary's Cemetery, Judd Rd., Terryville, CT 06786.
