Claude W. "Bill" Denton
Claude W. "Bill" Denton, 84, of Long Beach returned to his father in heaven on December 4, 2012. At seventeen years old, he joined the U.S Army and served for sixteen years. Following his service, Bill worked for the Navy shipyard in Long Beach. He was also an active member of Elks #888. Bill was a genuine gentleman who cared about all who came into his life. His compassion and selflessness for others left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He was a shy man who expressed a lot of love. He is survived by his sister, Betty Wilder; stepsons, Greg and Gordon Whyte; stepdaughter, Katherine Siwek; and grandchildren. The celebration of Bill's life will be held at 2 O'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Long Beach. Please sign the guestbook at www.presstelegram.com/obits.
