Margaret TAYLOR Obituary

Taylor, Margaret Roseberry

Margaret Roseberry Taylor, affectionately known as "Peggy," passed away of natural causes on December 22, 2012 at the age of 95. She was born on November 27, 1917 in Arkansas City, Kansas. She attended Pomona College and graduated in 1939. At college she met her husband, Paul Ancon Taylor, also a graduate of Pomona College, and was married to him on September 24, 1939. They were devoted to each other for 64 years before Paul's passing in 2003.

Peggy served as Paul's secretary/treasurer for 10 years for his import food ingredient business which begin in 1956 and operated on a worldwide basis. Together, they enjoyed worldwide traveling on behalf of the business. Some of Peggy's favorite places were: Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Norway, Sweden and numerous other countries. Over the years, they met many friends throughout the world and treasured these friendships which lasted a lifetime. Many other places like Hawaii and Arizona were enjoyed on a yearly basis for pleasure.

Peggy's hobbies and interests included flower arranging, reading, horseback riding and traveling. She was especially devoted to volunteer teaching "Conversational English" to new residents of the community.

Peggy was active in her community and clubs, being a member of San Marino Community Church, Pi Beta Phi Sorority, the P.E.O., The Town Club, San Marino League, and Annandale Country Club. She and Paul established the Paul & Margaret Taylor Scholarship for junior students of International Trade at Pomona College.

Margaret is survived by two children: her daughter, Nancy Engemann; granddaughters, Susan Pippert (Derek), Carrie Levy (Matthew); and great-granddaughters, Mia and Callie Pippert, Ashley and Alexis Levy; her son, Richard Taylor (Kay); grandchildren, Kristine Taylor, Craig Taylor. Peggy was a beloved grandmother who took great joy in taking her grandchildren out for their own Special Day with her. Her grandchildren have wonderful memories of their times with her.

No memorial service will be held. Donations in Peggy's memory may be made to San Marino Community Church, (Deacons Fund), 1750 Virginia Road, San Marino, CA 91108 or to Cottey College, 1000 W. Austin, Nevada, MO 64772, (Chapter H.M.)
