Paul Brown Obituary

Paul N. Brown
Longtime resident of Highland, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at the age of 91.
Paul was a WWII veteran, serving with distinction in Europe and earning the Bronze Star & Purple Heart. After the war, he spent many years as a theater manager with Pacific Group, then as a sign salesman for local company Quiel Bros., where he worked well into his 80s, retiring & unretiring several times.
He was a man who found great joy in his family, his work, uncountable trips to Hawaii, spoiling his great-grandchildren, snacking, and watching the Angels play. He loved keeping busy and interacting with people from all walks of life, from checkout clerks to business owners, and always had a joke to tell them all. Cancer may have taken him from us, but it could not steal his sense of humor, which was with him until his last day.
Paul leaves behind his beloved wife of 64 years, Joyce (Croom) Brown; his granddaughter Alison Kenney (Michael); and two great-granddaughters, Reagan and Shannon. He is predeceased by his children, Steve and Paula. In accordance with his wishes, no service is planned.

As a rookie policeman I was assigned to walk the downtown foot beat in San Bernardino in the early 1960's. I got to know Paul well and enjoyed our talks. He was a real gentleman, always in his suit and bowtie, and never without a smile and a story. He was a great roll model. My condolences to family members, praying God will give you comfort.
