Betty Lou Matthes
88, passed away Thursday, 27 March 2014, at her home, in Alta Loma. She was born in Pasadena, CA on 22 February 1926. Thus she was often fondly referred to by her husband Chuck, Friends and Family as "The Little Old Lady from Pasadena". She has been married to E. Charles Matthes "Chuck" for nearly 58 years. Betty delighted in working in her garden with her roses, was passionate about dancing, both Ballroom and Western, as well as Square Dancing; she was also a member of the Ontario Elks Ladies. She is survived by her three children: Garth Matthes and Gayle Matthes of Kansas City, MO; and Kirk Matthes of Fountain Valley, CA. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren: Ashley Matthes of Irvine, CA and Brandon Matthes of Santa Ana, CA; Jacqueline Giambrone of Kansas City, MO and Curtis Matthes of Edmond, OK; and 6 great grandchildren: Dylan and Madeline of Santa Ana, CA, Rylan of Irvine, CA, John, Quinn, and Rosie of Edmond, OK.
In lieu of flowers please make a contribution, in Betty's name, to the Elks National Foundation or to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.
A 'Celebration of Life' luncheon will be held at the Ontario Elks Lodge located at 1150 W. 4th Street, Ontario, CA at 12:00 PM, on Thursday 10 April 2014.
