Alice Theresa Sylvia Rose
90, of Upland, Ca. joined her husband in Eternal Rest with our Lord on Saturday, Nov 24th. Alice was born in Dartmouth, Ma. Aug 23 1922. She graduated with honors from Dartmouth High School. Alice met the love of her life, Alden, and soon after they were married in Fall River, Ma on June 6th 1942. In 1959 they moved their family to Southern California. Alice is a member of the Massachusetts Society of Mayflower Descendants. She retired as a Social Worker for the County of San Bernardino after serving 20 yrs working with the Aging and Disabled. Alice was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Claremont, Ca. where she was a member of The Ladies of Columbus and The Italian Club.
Alice truly set the highest standards for love and respect to all, and demonstrated it in every single relationship she had. She was no less than the best example of a caring, loving, and tolerant individual as we all might hope to find.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband Alden G. Rose, parents Frederick and Margaret (Mosher) Sylvia, brothers Fred, Bob, Ted, and John, cousins Edwin Mosher, Doris Hinds, William Mosher.
Alice is survived by her sister Marjorie Ross of Dartmouth, Ma. Cousin MaryBeth Fletcher of New Bedford, Ma. 5 children: Karen (Ron) Meade, Alden Rose, Margaret (Jack) Hoelter, Rebecca McCauley, and Jim (Keri) Rose. 10 grandchildren: Scott, Steven, Sarah, Brian, Jessica, Darcy, John, Kathryn, Taylor, and Anne. 8 great grandchildren: Dillon, Andrew, Kylee, Kaiden, Heidi, Kaitlyn, Austin, Jarren, and one more on the way.
Services will be held December 1st at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 435 Berkeley Ave. Claremont, Ca. Rosary service will be at 10 A.M. with Mass following at 10:30. Following services there will be an open house at her home: 1711 W 11th Street, in Upland. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Foundation.
