Age 84, passed away February 2, 2013 in Granada Hills, CA, after a lengthy illness. Betty Jean was born January 10, 1929 in Edwardsville, Illinois to Eugene and Elizabeth Lee. The family moved around due to her fathers job eventually settling in Galveston, Texas, where she graduated from Ball High School. The family then moved to California in the late 1940's. Betty Jean was a very adventurous person. She was one of the original stewardesses for Flying Tigers Airline and traveled to Europe, Asia, the Pacific Islands and thru out the United States. She had to retire from Flying Tigers after she got married in 1955. She then became a full time mother to her five children. She was very active in her children's little league baseball always volunteering to be a team mother and chauffeuring the kids and their friends around.

Betty Jean leaves behind her sister, Loyce Rayzor of Galveston, Texas; her five children, Tom Brown, Tim Brown (Maureen), Cheryl Hayes (Patrick), Kevin Brown (Susie) and Brian Brown; grandchildren, Ryan, Andrew, Jennifer, Shane, Jackie, Jered and Jasmine; brother-in-law, Eddie Gurunian; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas Brown; brother, Wilfred Lee; and sister Virginia Morris. The Brown family would like to thank the Rinaldi Convalescence Hospital caregivers in Granada Hills for all they have done to make her comfortable this past year. She will be forever missed by all. A private service is pending.
