Carmen B. Alba, a long-time resident of Azusa, passed away on Oct. 13, 2008 at the age of 71. Carmen was ve ry proud to be an active member of her community. She was a member of MAPA, the Guadalupanas, Sociedad Protectora Femenina, and also involved with the Head Start Program and YMCA, all in the City of Cucamonga. She also taught 2nd grade CCD at St. Frances of Rome Parish for over 20 years, and still took time to give English lessons in her home. She was preceded in death by her husband Ruben Alba Sr. and daughter Elizabeth Gallagher. Carmen is survived by her sons, Ruben, Celso, and Hector Alba; daughte rs, Lupe Ramirez and Alejandra Hurtado; step-daughters, Cynthia Pred and Christina Lickus; 21 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 17th, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm with the Rosary Prayer Service at 7:30pm. The Funeral Mass will be on Sat., October 18th, at 8:30am, all services will be held at St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church, Azusa, followed with interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Pomona. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to St. Frances of Rome Religious Education, CCD, 508 N.
