Donald (BIGDAWG) Brannan
73, of Montclair CA, passed away January 16, 2014 in the comfort of his
own home.
He was born May 1, 1940 in Sewickley, PA and moved to the Montclair area as a young man in 1949. He graduated from Chaffey High School and went on to work for Otis Elevator for 17 years. He then worked for the Chino Unified School District for 29 years until he retired in 2008. Among his interests as a young man, he enjoyed racing his '55 Chevy, men's softball, golfing, and bowling but his biggest passion was coaching women's softball. He coached for 40 plus years starting with the Montclair Golden Girls and later with Women's fast pitch softball, Diamonds, Sliders, Hurricanes and the countless teams he sponsored. He was very proud to have won 7 National Championships throughout the years.
He is survived by his Brother Tom Brannan of Lake Arrowhead; Son Mark Brannan of Montclair, two daughters Lori Martin of Montclair and Tracy Luster (Mark Luster) of Alta Loma ; his former wife Wanda H Brannan of Upland and four grandchildren Ashley, Travis, Cody and Shianne who will be attending Cal State Fullerton and playing Titan Softball in 2015.
