Epifanio P. Campos, age 92, passed away peacefully at home on April 17, 2013. Epifanio was preceded in death by his loving wife, Gregoria; and his first born son, Ruben. He is survived by his remaining sons, Rudolfo "Rudy" and Epifanio Jr. He also leaves behind five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps as a Sergeant flying 30 missions over Europe in a B-17 Bomber including D-Day. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross Medal, the Air Medal, the American Campaign Medal, the Presidential Unit Citation, and a Purple Heart Medal. After the war, he married his sweetheart Gregoria and settled in Granada Hills to raise his family and operate a successful gardening/landscaping business.
A loving, caring father, he will be most remembered for his hard work ethic, honesty, quiet strength, and never ending dedication to his family.
Viewing will be at Utter McKinley San Fernando Mission Mortuary in Mission Hills, on April 25th, from 5:00 to 8:30 p.m. Funeral Mass at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in Granada Hills on April 26th, 10:00 a.m., with Interment immediately after at San Fernando Mission Cemetery.
