Fred L. Koshmerl Obituary
Fred Leroy Koshmerl of Las Vegas, NV passed away peacefully December 21, 2016. He is now together again with his beloved wife of 22 years, Gayle. He is survived by his 5 sons Tim, Brian, Damon, Clayton, Steven and 2 stepchildren, Monique Beck and Darryl Anton along with 14 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and his first wife, Pamela Brower. He was preceded in death by his wife Gayle (Picard) Koshmerl, his parents as well as his brother Gary Robles and sister Elaine Saley. Fred was born in Alhambra, CA November 28, 1941 to Charles F. Koshmerl and Frances H. (Kelley) Koshmerl. He grew up in the San Gabriel, CA area and later lived in the Inland Empire area. He worked 30+ years at the Fasson Division of Avery in many positions, lastly as Custom Business Team Associate. Fred was incredibly smart, especially with math - no calculator needed, an avid reader, the family photographer, crossword puzzle master and Jeopardy whiz. In his leisure time he also enjoyed golfing, collecting guns, playing pool and he loved spending time with his family and friends boating at the river. We have so many fond memories of epic tube rides, being jet-a-vated, cold water baths if you dared to fall asleep, and Fred "checking the prop". He and Gayle loved Lake Mead so much after being together for nearly 20 years they married right on the shore of Boulder Beach with their large family and many friends in attendance. In 1999 they moved to the Las Vegas area where Fred worked for MacTac as a Process Manager until retiring in 2004. Fred leaves many friends as well, those from 40+ years ago to those he met more recently...he made friends wherever he went. Fred loved his kids and grandkids so much and really enjoyed time spent with them all. He brought so much fun into our lives, always had a story, a joke, a trick, a bit of trivia and was generally the life of the party. He will truly be missed. We will hold a Celebration of his Life Open House in Las Vegas on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 2pm. Please stop by when you can. For details please email ckoshmerl@aol.com or monique.beck9@gmail.com
