Harry A. "Jack" Birk Jr. Obituary
BIRK, Harry A. "Jack" Jr.

Harry A. "Jack" Birk Jr. pictured with his beloved wife, Phyllis, who passed away in 2008. On May 7th, Harry A. Birk Jr. passed away at age 97. He was known to most of his friends as Jack Birk, and a beloved fixture in the neighborhood in which he lived. He was very outgoing and made everyone feel like he or she had been a longtime friend. Many called him a wonderful man, which he was. He almost always wearing his trademark USC clothing, cap and shirt, and frequently jacket and pants. He was known by many, particularly those at Leroy's Restaurant in Monrovia as "Mister USC". He prided himself on being a loyal fan of USC Football, and attended nearly every home game for 49 years with his good friend Robert Haugh. He is survived by his son, Harry A. Birk III. He is very missed by all his many friends and neighbors. There are not enough words in the English Language to express how much he is missed. He is being interred at Live Oak Cemetery, after being cremated and placed in an urn, which will be right next to his beloved wife, Phyllis Jane Birk, who died in 2008. There is no service planned, according to his wishes. He will be placed next to his wife at 1:00 PM Friday, May 18th at Live Oak Cemetery.
