James Lee Jackson Sr. (J.J.)
Age 76, of Fontana, CA. died on March 3, 2013, following a brief illness surrounded by his beloved wife, Lorna (Lonnie) and family. He was born to Leo and Genevieve Jackson on December 10, 1936 and raised in Le Roy, Illinois. J.J. moved to Southern California in 1955 and served his country in the
United States Navy
He is preceded in death by his first wife of many years, Darlene. Also preceding him in death were his parents and 2 sisters (Shirley and Sandra) and his stepson, Jimmie Wassman.
Left to treasure his memory, his wife of 22 years, Lonnie, sons Jim Jr. (Julie), Tim (Susan), daughters Debbie Ceniceros (Sal), Eilene Vest (David), Jennifer Royster (Jeff), and stepdaughter Julie Briguglio (Sal). J.J. was an adored grandpa to 18 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Peggy Peavler and brother David Jackson.
J.J. retired from ABF Trucking after 36 years of dedicated employment, serving as shop steward for the majority of those years. He was a member of the Executive Board of Local 952 Teamsters.
J.J. enjoyed gardening in his beautiful yard, tending to his fruit trees, and vegetable garden. He adored his little doxie "Coco".
Being a quiet man, a man of few words, J.J. showed his love and devotion to his family and freinds not in the things he said, but in the many wonderful things he did.
Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. Friday March 8 2013 with services beginning at 12:30 p.m. at Todd Memorial Chapel on Indian Hill Boulevard in Claremont. Graveside services to follow at Bellevue cemetery in Ontario.
