BASURA, Janice Ann

Longtime Arcadia resident Janice Ann Basura passed away on February 7, 2014. She was born to James and Madge Roach in a farmhouse in Illinois in 1937, and later graduated from St. Louis University. While teaching at Mater Dei in Santa Ana, she met and married her husband of 47 years, Jerry Basura, and gave up teaching to start a family. Always blessed with boundless energy, Janice helped run the family business and worked part-time at a local bank for over 30 years. The fact that she counted as many 20-year-olds as 80-year-olds in her loving circle of friends was testament to her warm and outgoing nature. An avid traveler, Janice visited the four corners of the globe, but always made it back to her favorite place, London, England. Janice is survived by her husband and two devoted children, Matthew and Maureen; three grandchildren, Olivia, Charlotte and Henry. A memorial mass will be offered at 10:30am, Wednesday, February 19, at Mission San Fernando.
