Joseph Trezza Obituary
Joe, originally from Pittsburg, California, attended college at the University of California, Davis and the California College of Optometry in Fullerton. After moving to Rancho Cucamonga he opened his practice with James Tatum and they continued their partnership until Joe's passing.
As an active member and Sergeant-at-Arms of the Rotary Club of Rancho Cucamonga, he was able to serve the community in many ways. As such, the Rotary Club has established a memorial fund, in Joe's name, which will be given to the Los Osos High School Interact Club. As a mentor, he was able to teach these students the importance of: working in the community, serving others above self, and the importance of continuing their education. Contributions may be made to the: Rotary Club of Rancho Cucamonga Foundation, P.O. Box 2353 Rancho Cucamonga, California 91729 (Checks should read Joe Trezza in memo space)
Joe is survived by his wife Pat, daughter Lauren, son-in-law Phillip, brother James and family, and brother Richard and family. A Celebration of Life will be held on August 22nd in Rancho Cucamonga.

He was the best doctor i have every had since i was a teenager in the
80s until probably 2014,not knowing he passed until i was looking him up this evening to refer my fiance to him. He had my whole family as a client and his receptionist was very friendly and made us laugh all the time. He will truly be missed. RIH

Both Lee and I have known Joe since His days in Rotary club. We started seeing him in his First office. He was a long time friend. Pat was wonderful and warm. Joe always made us laugh by the end of our visits. Sadly We Moved In 1995 and saw Joe when we would visit. Always had a joke to tell. Moving up here we then got to know his brother Jim. So very sorry to of his passing. He will always remain in our hearts. Our condolences, to his wife Pat and daughter,Lauren.

It was a joy to visit the Tatum/Trezza offices. Joe was so enjoyable. Who likes to get their eyes checked? You do when you visit Joe. Thank you for being such a light.

I just called in to make an appointment for my annual exam (I'm late), and was told that I would be seeing Dr. Tatum. I said, oh no, I have to see my Dr. Trezza, and then I heard the heartbreaking news that he passed away last year. I was so stunned that I could barely talk. Dr. Trezza was my eye doctor for at least 25 years. I live in Covina, but would drive all the way to Rancho to see him, because I felt like we were best pals, and I could never see another doctor. I would literally look forward to my appointment. We laughed and carried on, and I told him stuff that I didn't even share with family members. He took such good care of me because he loved what he did. I will miss him so much, especially his big smile. My heart goes out to his wife and family. Love and Blessings, Deborah

I am so sorry for your loss. I just learned last week when I came in to see him for my annual visit. He was always so warm, friendly and genuinely interested in how our lives were going. My husband Dennis had a brain tumor (passed in March 2014) and Dr Trezza was so great with him and helped us both as we went through Dennis' illness. I've known Dr Trezza since I was 7 or 8 years old. I am now 46. He was a fantastic optometrist and a friend. He always made me laugh. He fitted me for my first glasses. My mom and I enjoyed his sense of humor!! He's definitely one of a kind and will be missed. I'm sure he's cracking some jokes in heaven now with my mom:). Thinking of the family and anyone that the DOC, (he called himself) was touched by. Will miss you Dr Trezza!

I just learned about Dr. Trezza's passing. I am so very sad. He was just a nice doctor, always cheerful, always willing to talk a little bit more. He was so nice. I will miss our little chats and his service. God Bless his family during these difficult times.

Today, I learned that the nicest Doctor I have ever had is gone. I looked forward to my annual appointments just to visit with him. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, staff, and patients this holiday season.

I was so saddened to hear about Dr. Trezza's passing today. I have been his patient for about 30 years, and always found him to be an extremely kind man with great sense of humor as well as being a wonderful doctor. My condolences to his family and friends.

We will truly miss you Dr.Joe. You have been my eye Dr. since 1984 when I was 14. Then my own families. I will never forget when you teared up after learning my husband passed in 2008. Our family is saddened to learn of Dr. Trezza's passing! He was my eye doctor since 1991 and my moms since they opened their business in the early '80's! Hilarious and always had a smile!! Saw the sadness in Dr. Tatum's eyes today when my mom brought up Trezza's name. I knew he was ill but I just had to check the obits today. And sadly confirmed our suspicions. It was with great shock and sadness that I found out about Joe's passing yesterday (Aug 27). I considered him my best friend growing up through High School. I also knew his wife Pat well from our HS days in Pittsburg. Although we lost touch over the years, I had always thought highly of Joe and his family values.
