Patricia Ann "Pat" Crawford
Age 77, passed away at home surrounded by family on November 10, 2013. She was born in Barberton, Ohio on March 10, 1936 and moved to Fontana, California in 1943. Pat graduated from Chaffey High School in 1954. She lived in Fontana for 70 years.
In her early years Pat worked at Norton Air Force Base and Kaiser Steel. She also taught cake decorating, and sold real estate. She and her husband Chuck owned and operated Pat's Party Cakes in Fontana and Pizza Kitchen in Big Bear City for several years. Pat was known to many as the "cake lady," having created unique cakes for all occasions. She especially enjoyed making wedding cakes and meeting with brides to design the perfect cake.
Pat was involved in and contributed to a multitude of charities and causes. Among them were food banks and toy drives. For well over 10 years, she worked closely with the firefighters in Fontana. She purchased toys and clothing for children in need and helped to distribute them at their annual toy drive. For many years Pat and Chuck played the roles of Santa and Mrs. Claus delighting children at parties as well as those who came to visit them on their porch just before Christmas. Pat and Chuck had been married for 42 years when Chuck passed away in 2008.
Pat is survived by her children, Katy Pinkoczi and husband, Steve, Chuck Jr., Debbie Call and husband, Michael, Sherie Burton, Mike Vasilis, and wife Sherry, Laurie Barron, Karen Danco and husband, George; 20 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren with twins on the way. She is also survived by her sisters Jean MacGregor and husband Jim, Janet Bangs, and her brother Dennis Cunningham and wife Rhonda. Pat will truly be missed by friends and loved ones including her pets Bitsy, Willie, and Lucky.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, November 19, 2013 from 4-8 P.M. at Green Acres Memorial Chapel, 11715 Cedar Ave., Bloomington. Services will be held Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at 10 A.M. at Green Acres Memorial Park in Bloomington. In lieu of flowers, tax deductible donations can be made to Pacific Meso Center at Pacific Heart, Lung and Blood Institute: 10780 Santa Monica Blvd., Suite 101, Los Angeles, California, 90025.
