In 1994 he retired and spent most of his time in Newport Beach, hanging out at the Ritz with his buddies. He loved holding court and playing gin in the back patio. Paul had a 50 year affinity for collecting books and had many friends that looked to him for knowledge on upcoming sporting events. Above all else he enjoyed BBQ's and spending time with his family.
