Ralph Charles Snyder was born October 14, 1925 in Antioch, IL, passed away August 13, 2012 in Murrieta, CA. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dolores L. Snyder (Gosser), 3 daughters, Patti, Joni, and Mary, 4 grandchildren, Ami Sexton, John Linnborn, Jayme Branch and Sinjon Snyder, 5 great-grandchildren and sister, Edna Mae Johnston. Ralph was the youngest of 7 children. After graduating from high school Ralph enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country during WWII as a Coxswain and was extremely proud to be a "Seabee". In 1952 after living in Marion, Indiana Ralph found his way to Compton, CA and then later to Long Beach where he resided until retiring to Murrieta. He was a successful businessman in Long Beach owning V.B. Morgan Co., Keen Inc. and The Captains Quarters. He was involved in many activities, organizations, and charities. President of the National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame Los Angeles Chapter, member of California Trucking Association, and member of the Teamsters-Tank Operators Negotiating Committee. In 1969 the Century Club named him Outstanding Citizen of Long Beach. Over the years he contributed to many youth sports. He was a member of CSULB Booster Club, an avid golfer and sports enthusiast. Ralph had a huge heart and helped many people. He adored his family and was loved by all who knew him. "Papa" will be deeply missed. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, August 16 at St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Long Beach. Please sign the guestbook
