Anthony Armond Andreozzi, 94, entered into eternal rest on the morning of Sunday, February 24, 2013. Affectionately known to most as simply 'Papa' he will be missed by his family and friends. Tony was born March 1, 1918 to Pete Andreozzi and Teresa Amati in Follansbee, West Virginia. Tony was the oldest son in a family of eight children. At the age of 17, he began to support this family after the untimely passing of his father.
Tony met his wife Mary Rose Gallo in Steubenville, Ohio they were wed on August 29, 1941. They had two children Gloria and Johnny. Tony relocated his family from the east coast to Southern California in 1957.
Tony proudly served his country during WWII in the Army's 751st Tank Battalion.
Tony spent the majority of his career in the steel industry; Tony retired from Kaiser Steel after 23 years of service to the company. Tony and his wife Mary dedicated their lives to the care of children. They provided stability and a loving environment to over 26 foster children in their home in Rancho Cucamonga. They adopted two of these children, Chris and Ronnie, as their sons.
Tony is survived by his sons Chris and Ronnie. His sister Josephine. His grandchildren Sonda, Kelly, Jimmy, Jessica, Luke, Jacob, and Drake. Tony was blessed with an additional eight great grandchildren during his life. Papa was unfortunately preceded in death by his wife Mary, son Johnny, daughter Gloria as well as many family and dear friends.
A vigil and funeral services will be held at St Martin de Porres Parish 19791 Yorba Linda Blvd, Yorba Linda CA 92886. Family will receive friends at the vigil on Wednesday March 13, 2013 from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. The funeral services and mass will be held on Thursday March 14, 2013 at 10:00 am. The burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Cemetery, Ontario, CA.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Orangewood Children's Home or Just in Time Foster Youth.
