George Louis Gedeon
78, of Upland passed away Tuesday March 27th, 2013. George was born in Titusville, Pa., to Peter and Edith Gedeon. He attended Penn State University where he graduated in 1958 with a degree in Metallurgy. George worked in the Forging Industry for 42 years. George and Carol met and married in Wisconsin. In 1962 they moved to Downey where they lived until 1972 when he became Chief Metallurgist at Schlosser Forge in Rancho Cucamonga.
George loved his family, his cats, golf and his Porsches. He was President of the Los Angeles Chapter of the Porsche Club of America when they lived in LA County. As his children grew George refereed AYSO soccer, was involved with the Boy Scouts of America for many years, hiked and camped, skied with his children and friends, loved to play golf and travel. George was a loving husband and father. He will be missed by his family and friends.
George is survived by his wife Carol, his son Todd, daughter Lesley , grandchildren Brady and Tatum, his sisters, Jean Nicholas ( Ann Arbor, MI,) Margaret Villette (Paris, France), and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Anne Greenawalt.
A celebration of life will be held for family and friends at Red Hill CC on Saturday, April 6th from 11:00 am to 2:00pm
