Yvonne Estelle Voisin
April 29,1930 - March 17,2013

Loving mother and grandmother passed away while convalescing after a short hospitalization. Born in Poole,England she emigrated to Chicago in 1961 with husband Geoffrey and son Michael.
Moving to Los Angeles in 1962 when twin daughters Laura and Samantha were born,she was a resident of South Pasadena since 1969.
From 1974 to 1989 she served as public relations director for the American Cancer Society's Greater Los Angeles region.
In 1989 she formed her own consulting company,Voisin Communications.
Committed to using her abilities to help others,she was active in many service organizations.
In 1979 she joined Altrusa,serving as local president six times,at one point producing their
local newsletter and was currently serving as local treasurer.
While serving as president of PIRATES (Print Interactive Radio and Television Educational Society) from 1994-1996,Yvonne was integral in keeping the organization solvent and focused. In 2000 she received their highest accolade,"The Golden Buccaneer Award" for outstanding service within PIRATES and through Voisin Communications to the public service community in Los Angeles. Locally,Yvonne was active with the Friends of the South Pasadena Public Library,having served as president,publicity chair for over twenty years and since 1996 providing the public relations for the Restoration Concerts series.
Reflecting her great love for books,she has been a volunteer in the Friends' Bookstore for more than twenty years,once being honored as "Volunteer of the Year".
For more than fifteen years she has worked with the Language Institute in Pasadena finding
lodging for foreign students and since 2007 with the Oneonta Club Foundation in South Pasadena on their scholarship program.
Since Oct 2012 she worked as proofreader for the South Pasadena Review.
Divorced in 1974,Yvonne is survived by her three children and grandson Joshua.
Her kindness,gentle manner and truly caring nature defined a life of goodness,and she will be missed far beyond what words can express.
Per her wishes,Yvonne was cremated and her ashes will eventually be returned to England.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday April 20 at 10:00 AM at- The Church of Our Saviour,Episcopal Parish 535 West Roses Road San Gabriel,CA 91775.
