EDWARD LEE WATSON, JR.

Age 53, of Canoga Park, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2013, at the VA Hospice in North Hills, after a courageous battle with GIST cancer.
Born in Inglewood, CA, he grew up in Manhattan Beach and Santa Clarita. Survivors include his mother, Lucille Leeman (AKA Watson, Berg) of North Carolina; his father, Edward Lee Watson, Sr. (Carol) of Michigan; his sisters, Elizabeth Lopez (Daniel) and Kathryn Lawrence (Bruce) of Hesperia, CA.; his brother, Stepen Watson (Teresa) of Fairfax, VA; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Ed proudly served his country for six years in the Naval Nuclear Power Program aboard sub USS Thomas A. Edison and aircraft carrier USS Enterprise. He was a devout parishioner at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Canoga Park. His interests were computer programming and photography. Most recently Ed was employed by Airserve as a security guard at Burbank Airport. Edward will be missed by his family and by his caring friend, Loretta Norwalt.
Mass will be celebrated July 5, 2013, noon, at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, 7005 Brockton Ave., Riverside; burial with full military honors will follow at 1:30 p.m., in the Riverside National Cemetery. Angeleno Mortuary in North Hollywood is assisting the family.
