William Earl Osborn
William Earl Osborn, 89, a third-generation Long Beach native, died July 26, 2013. He attended local schools and graduated from Wilson High School in 1941. He attended Cal Berkeley, graduated from USC in 1947 with a bachelor's in engineering and, in 1952, earned a master's degree. During World War II, Bill joined the
Air Force, graduating as a first lieutenant, stationed at Pecos, Texas, as an advanced flight instructor. Bill and Marilyn were married in 1945, recently celebrating their 68th wedding anniversary. Bill worked in the frozen food industry, eventually starting his own business, Osborn Food Sales. Bill and Marilyn are the parents of 3 children, 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. They have traveled to 132 countries on all 7 continents and are members of the Travelers Century Club. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., August 5, at Forest Lawn, Cathedral Chapel, 1500 E.
