Marty was predeceased by his wife Lois in 2012, after 74 years of marriage. Marty graduated from Chino High in 1936, where he excelled in sports. He worked for Libby-McNeil & Libby Canneries, Jimmy Fisher Service Station, and the Walt Noble Gilmore Gas Station at Riverside Dr. and 6th St before purchasing that business in 1940. He was a charter member of the Chino 20-30 Club, serving as president, and starting the annual Chino 20-30 Club Invitational Basketball Tournament with Levi Dickey. Drafted into the Marine Corps in 1945, Marty spent a year in Tsingtao China. He entered the insurance business in 1954, and started his own agency in 1960. He was a volunteer fireman for 20 years and served as Captain of the Volunteer Fire Department, later serving as Fire Commissioner. In 1989, he was named Firefighter of the Year. He was a member of the Chino Rotary Club from 1960, to 2004, serving as president in 1970. The Chino community center named Marty and Lois Sweethearts of the Year in 1989. Marty was a long-time active member of the Chino Basque Club. He is survived by three sons, Gary (Susan) of Riverside; Randy (Daniel) of Idyllwild, and Martie (Kathy) of Ontario; as well as six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Private family services will be held at Pomona Valley Memorial Park Mausoleum.
