COOKE, BERNADETTE MARIE (FROCHAUX)  
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., with Rosary at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 28th at Frye Chapel and Mortuary, 799 S. Hwy 86, Brawley, CA 92227 for Bernadette Marie (Frochaux) Cooke, 86, of Imperial who died July 22nd at Casa Elite in El Centro. Deacon Don Spinney will officiate over the funeral service at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 402 S. Imperial Ave., Brawley, CA 92227. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Brawley. Mrs. Cooke was born September 29, 1928, in Rhorsach, Switzerland, and at the age of 2 immigrated with her parents and sister to the United States through San Pedro, CA. She was raised and attended grammar school in Westmorland and graduated from Brawley Union High School in 1946. Bernadette married Walter D. Cooke (1927- 2005) on October 7, 1950. Together they raised 8 children on the Cooke Family Farm/Ranch. She was a leader in the Imperial 4-H program while her children were involved in 4-H. She taught children how to cook and sew. While raising their family Bernadette also worked at home as a bookkeeper for Swaim & Swaim Custom Tillage. When the children were older she went to work at Agriform as a clerical clerk. Bernadette was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she and Walter served as greeters. She and Walter loved to travel. She enjoyed raising her children, gardening, sewing, baking and her favorite thing was league bowling with her friends. Mrs. Cooke was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Emma Frochaux, husband Walter Cooke, her sister Janine Ramsay and nephew Matthew Gourley. Survivors include her sisters Lillian Gourley of Pine Valley, CA and Suzanne Rubidoux of Agoura Hills, CA; 7 nephews and 6 nieces; daughters and sons-in-law, Catherine and Daniel Bickford of Gresham, Oregon, Suzanne and Robert Bredernitz of Yuma, Jeanette and Ronald Owen of Brawley, Charlotte Cooke and Rodney Van Hoozen (deceased) of Elkins Ark.; sons and daughters-in-law, Lawrence and Linda Cooke and Daniel and Pamela Cooke, all of Imperial, John and Beckie Cooke of Brawley and Robert and Patricia Cooke of Salt Lake City, UT; grandchildren, Bobby, Carolyn, Albert, Kim, William, Jacquelyn, Kevin, Michael, Stephanie, Jamie, Justin, Sarah, Robert and Nicole; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Elle, Avery, Porter, Brooke, Samuel, Abigail, Jesse, Maggie, Connor, Kaylee, Ava , Gavin, Ella, Kaylanna and Adelina. We would like to thank: Irma and her staff at Casa Elite in El Centro for their compassion and the loving care that they gave our Mother; Luis and his staff at ARIA Hospice of El Centro, CA; Dr. Oscar Lopez and Dr. Edna L. CORONA, GUADALUPE GOMEZ  
Guadalupe Corona, 84, of Calipatria passed away as the result of congestive heart failure on Monday, July 20 in San Diego. She was born March 17, 1931 in Gabriel Lopez, Zacatecas and was married to Antonio Ruvalcaba Corona in Yahuallca, Jalisco in 1951. Guadalupe was devoted to her family and her faith. She was a homemaker all her life who cared for her boys and instilled in them faith in God and kindness towards others. Guadalupe was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church for 50 years and it was a joy for her to attend and hold prayer meetings in her home. Guadalupe's kind, gentle smile will be missed by all who truly knew her. A special thanks to our Mother's caregivers, especially Eva Lopez who our Mother truly loved. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, July 30 from 6 to 9 p.m. at St. Patrick's Church in Calipatria with rosary at 7 p.m. Mass, officiated by Father Alfredo Heyrosa, will commence at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 31, also at St. Patrick's Church. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her parents, Regino and Dolores Gomez; daughter, Maria de los Angeles; sister, Valentina Gonzalez; brother, Francisco Gonzalez; husband, Antonio Corona Sr.; son, Antonio Corona Jr.; and brother, Antonio Gonzalez. Guadalupe is survived by her sons, Raul (Mary), Manual (Karen), Salvador (Catalina), David (Cecilia), Ralph (Yadira), and Hector; sisters, Maria, Paula, Josephina, Juventina, and Amparo; brothers, Juan and Miguel; grandchildren, Junior (Amber), Andrea, Krystal, David Jr., Stephanie, Mary Angel, Carly, Cassandra, Travis, and Mia; great-grandchildren, Alexa, Jordan, and Davyen; and numerous nephews and nieces.
